Most people usually do the daily "overview" at night if at all. I tend to do it in the morning when my mind is less cluttered and getting my dose of cafe'. This is when I make the connections of my global world to my personal world. I had to mature a little to realize how much one effected/affected the other. One aspect of this is represented on my twitter account at SteveYankowski but that's more political and global. My blog is more personal and what I like to call "Stream of Consciousness" thought. I find this is a great way of "sorting" through stuff. I also can't forget the occasional comment, question, or attack. So be it. That's what makes life interesting. Sometimes I just get flabbergasted! Ha! My morning overview usually starts this way, Centering myself in thought and being, then, forwarding into what will probably be my mindset for the day. Sadly to say right at this moment it's kind of directionless. It started in a direction that just kind of phased out... Politically speaking the morning overview is not good, see what happened in England? Muslim extremism will piggyback that for sure. Tax cuts? There are non, it is only a vote on status quo. Dream Act? Everybody wants something for nothing. So on and so on... Personally this morning, I'm not up or down, neither excited or despondent just here. Things could be a lot worse, but using that as my barometer is kind of sad really. I don't always want to look at "how better things will be" but why not how good things just are, not compared with past experiences or future expectations? Learning from history or expectation is important and a real skill to master, but living in it constantly, comparing everything, is a mental and emotional trap to be avoided at all cost. Live in the moment, NOT for the moment.
